Dr. Carter Woodson relentlessly argued that Black intellect requires chutzpah. The famed African American educator and maverick of diasporic heritage is finely depicted by Jarvis R. Givens in Fugitive Pedagogy: G. the Art Teaching. Many library information science field know Woodson’s contributions: his founding Negro History Week, which evolved to Month; catalog history publications, including seminal work Miseducation ; rally champions interests through Association for Study Life History, or ASALH.
